Gotcha! If there's resistance Sarah would probably only press the telepathy if she was bleeding or something, basically to try to make Kanaya believe she was human even though her body wasn't reacting. And up to you if it comes up as to whether you'd want that to work or not, and that can be figured out based on their CR at that point too.
