Alright, thanks for taking the time to chime in. Kanaya's really a sweet girl unless someone needs to be dealt with. The forcible drinking thing is mostly under control so most of this should never come up.
As for the Telepathy, such things exist on her homeworld as well. Trolls are born with different colors of blood, organized into a social structure called the hemospectrum. It is canon that higher blooded trolls are immune or resistant to psychic phenomena. The subject isn't broached regarding Kanaya's blood caste, but the character one cast just above is immune to another character's mental control. I'd say just think of it like somewhat resistant human. Nothing special, wouldn't stop anything, but it would be noticeable that there's something clouding it up.
She's an alien, but her thoughts would be fairly human, albeit one from a unknown culture.
